So this weekend I completely failed to get to our staff night out (bleh). Finished The Amber Spyglass and Descent of Angels leaving me bookless. I was a bit annoyed with Angels as the ending well doesn't. Hopefully they will release a followup book or I'll have to find out the story from somewhere else.

Does anyone else find the title of The Subtle Knife just a little ironic. It's a great tale but the subtlety of the subtext is beginning to drop away and the full 'Organised religion is bad.' message is really beginning to get hammered home.

Not that I'm complaining mind you. I just find the name a bit funny. Anyway I finished that last night.

didn't do much, read Northern Lights again. Saw some clips from the movie and went, hold on a minute, still looks like it could be good fun.

After seeing Beowulf in 3D it inspired me to read The Legacy of Heorot which I heartily recommend. More soon.

Well this Sunday was my first two games of 40k in about 10 years. I shall hide the sordid details behind a cut.

Finished A call to arms last night.

Just polished off The Jupiter Legacy which makes 84 books so far this year... though I will admit that I've read a lot of them before. I like returning to the same stories again after a while, like watching a favourite film.

Finished The Dracula Caper which is the last in the Time Wars series I've got. I might get round to getting the others as I did enjoy reading them again. Then I polished off Future History by Jerry Pournelle, very good future war stuff. Played some Dark Crusade and Super Paper Mario and saw The Island which was better than I thought.
